YOUR PHOTOS. YOUR PRIVACY.
Privacy policy
Effective September 9, 2026
This policy explains how TidyUp handles information when you use the iPhone and iPad app and this website. For privacy questions, contact the TidyUp developer at ktd08@icloud.com.
- Your photo and video processing happens on your device.
- TidyUp does not upload your library to its own servers or to RevenueCat.
- Apple handles payments. RevenueCat receives purchase-related data to validate and restore Premium access.
- You choose photo access and confirm final deletion.
1. Photo access and on-device processing
TidyUp requests access to Apple Photos so you can review and organize photos, compare similar images, scan for duplicates, compress media, and delete items you choose. Photo review, similarity analysis, duplicate scanning, and photo and video compression run locally on your device. Library identifiers, media metadata, and image data are used to perform those features.
You can grant access to selected photos or your full library, and change or revoke permission in iOS Settings. Limited access may restrict features that need to verify a whole month or library. When originals are stored in iCloud, Apple Photos may download them to your device for processing. Any iCloud synchronization is handled by Apple according to your settings and Apple’s policies.
2. Information stored on your device
TidyUp stores review decisions, Temporary Trash selections, bookmarks, photo identifiers, cached similar-photo groups, review progress, journal stamps, estimated space savings, preferences, and daily free allowances locally. Review progress uses iOS file protection. The app may create temporary files while compressing media and save compressed copies to your Photos library.
A swipe into Temporary Trash does not immediately delete the item from Apple Photos. Final deletion requires confirmation. Deletions performed through Apple Photos follow Apple’s Recently Deleted and iCloud synchronization behavior. Compressed copies are saved before TidyUp offers to remove originals.
3. Purchases and RevenueCat
Apple processes in-app payments. TidyUp uses RevenueCat to check purchase validity, manage Premium entitlements, restore purchases, and provide purchase reporting. RevenueCat can receive transaction and receipt information, product identifiers, subscription status and expiration information, an automatically generated app user identifier, and technical information such as operating system and device type. The SDK may contact RevenueCat when the app starts or refreshes access, even if you do not make a new purchase.
This information is used for app functionality, purchase validation, fraud prevention, and purchase analytics. TidyUp does not configure a custom identifier tied to your name or email, and does not send photos or videos to RevenueCat. TidyUp does not receive your full payment card details.
For more information, see RevenueCat’s privacy policy, its app privacy disclosures, and Apple’s privacy policy. Purchase verification and restoration require a network connection. You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account settings.
4. Support and website visits
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. We use it to respond and resolve your request. Please avoid sending private photos or unnecessary sensitive information.
This website has no app-added advertising, analytics trackers, contact forms, or marketing cookies. Its hosting providers may process standard request information, including IP addresses, browser details, timestamps, and requested pages, to deliver and protect the website. External links are governed by the destination’s privacy policy.
5. Sharing and advertising
TidyUp does not sell your personal information or use your photo library for advertising. Purchase information is processed by Apple and RevenueCat to operate purchases and Premium access. Hosting and email providers process information needed to deliver the website and support. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect legal rights and prevent abuse.
6. Retention and your choices
Local app information remains on your device until it is removed by the app or iOS, or you delete the app. Saved media remains in Apple Photos until you delete it separately. Device backups may retain information under your Apple settings. Removing TidyUp does not cancel a subscription or automatically erase Apple or RevenueCat purchase records.
Purchase and support information is retained as needed to provide services, restore access, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Apple and RevenueCat apply their own retention practices. To request access, correction, or deletion of information handled by the TidyUp developer, email ktd08@icloud.com. We may need information to locate the relevant record and verify the request. We cannot remotely access or delete your on-device photo library.
7. Security and international processing
TidyUp limits photo processing to your device and relies on iOS protections for local information. Network services use their own security safeguards. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live.
Where applicable law provides rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, or receive a copy of your information, contact us to exercise them. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. Where a legal basis is required, processing supports the services you request, our legitimate interests in support and security, or legal obligations. Photo access is controlled by your device permission choices.
8. Children
TidyUp is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect their personal information through support. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can address it.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the app or its services change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected here and, where required, communicated through the app or another appropriate notice.
